The Uvalde area is a hub to many South Texas and West Texas hunters seeking a wide range of species – from experienced sportsmen specifically here for our truly impressive native White-tailed Deer, to even the novice looking to do an African Safari without having to get his/her passport. Uvalde is home to four stream-fed pristine rivers, and is the county connecting the Texas Hill Country to the South Texas Brush Country.

The Uvalde area has it all – and Ziggy’s Taxidermy is honored to handle your taxidermy needs.

Studio visits are by appointment only.
Please contact us to drop off skulls/capes.

For convenience, your animal can be dropped off for processing at any of the following meat processors, and we will collect your cape and skull from them!
(Although we maintain relationships with these businesses, please ensure to notify us of your drop-off.)

Biography

Siegfried “Ziggy” Dühring is an experienced taxidermist and hunter with abundant knowledge of African and North American animal characteristics, natural habitat, and proper field preparation to ensure preservation of trophy quality.

Born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa, he holds a dangerous game professional hunters license and outfitters license in several provinces of the country and has been involved in the hunting and trophy exporting industry since his youth.

In 2010 he moved to the USA and began studying at Southwest Texas Junior College, graduating in 2012 with an Associates of Wildlife Management degree. Throughout this time, he was introduced to the art of Taxidermy. Over the next 6 years in both the USA and South Africa, he worked alongside a variety of professionals in the taxidermy trade industry further learning about the entire trophy finalization process including: wet and soft tanning, leather processes, sculpting, mannequin molding and modifying, and mounting techniques and styles on species from White-Tailed Deer and Crocodiles, to Giraffe and Cape Buffalo.
